Santa visits Yates Mill

The fine folks at Yates Mill Associates invited us to help take portraits of Santa with any and all comers last week. It was a grand old time with the world’s jolliest elf. Visitors were asked to sign up in groups, and then each group took part in “reindeer games” while their group-mates were visiting with Santa. A great time was had by all.

The best part, for me anyway, was seeing the reaction of the kids as they spoke with Santa. For that matter, the reaction of some of the adults was surprising as well. We look forward to seeing Santa again at Yates Mill next year!

Ameriprise Portrait Day

I spent the day shooting portraits of the staff at Ameriprise in Raleigh earlier this week. They asked me to do this so their advisors could update their websites and LinkedIn profiles. While they were at it, they invited clients to join us so they could get a free “web-ready” image for their social media profiles as well. This was a win-win for everyone. Clients got a quick meet with their advisors, free lunch and a free professionally shot portrait for their use online. This hopefully generated some good will for Ameriprise while updating many old portraits on their site. Last, but not least, it gave me exposure to several nice folks who may need my services in the future.

I set up a small studio in the back of the office where we shot the formal portraits for clients and staff. We then shot a few environmental portraits in the lobby of the building for a different look both before and after the clients visited.
